Susan S: the story origin started with Maggie Ginsberg suggesting the subject be covered.

Keith: went on the FCC website to challenge internet providers to be eligible for a public service grant.

Mark: is happy to have survived his RAGBRAI the storm, the heat, and other major challenges.

Lilly Smith rode the entire route (+500 miles) in the heat. Mark rode 42 miles on the hottest day on earth. This year is RAGBRAI’s 50th anniversary. One stage of the event 50k cyclists gathered to ride from Ames to Des Moines.

Trailer broke down 60 miles from the start plus other fun adventures.

Susan W: new goal for club donations to rotary international. Last year our club made 90% of its goal.

 

Peggy: Andrew J Bryant, our club’s past president from 2008-2009 passed away. Obituary can be found here. 

 

Judy has thank you letters from students who attended the foreign affairs seminar.

Rafael is planning on coming to help this year in the 10k. Discussion about the Interact kids with help for the set up, the event job database.

 

Heidi: Erin is leaving the club. Please reach out to her to make her feel welcomed. Susan is doing an exit interview.

 

200 reserved, 50 tickets are available. Jim Burns is contacting people he has sold to in the past.

If you are a 10th ticket sponsor please have a message from the sponsor email Keith so he can have something prepared to avoid too much improvisation.

Steve: reach out to local clubs to help network with them. Some discussion about catering. Susan: 200 meals to avoid wasting food.

This year we will do a tally during the event.

 

Beer people are settled. Keith will do the sound. Observations about last year that people were showing up 4:30-5:00.

This week the spreadsheet should be updated for who paid. Steve: lottery law that tickets need to be purchased before the day of the raffle.

Bob suggested there be a new category for people interested in purchasing extra tickets.

We have the liquor license from Matt Anderson.

Live auction: we have 3 destinations lined up. Heidi is working on it.

Keith: adding other events or games to keep guests engaged.
