Happy Bucks: Dana is happy and sad that her fourth and final child graduated, marking the first time in 25 years she has no youth sports to attend. Shawn is happy for a trip to Redding, Calif., to see daughter Brianna, climb mountains and hike to waterfalls. Sarah is happy for the last day of school, as is Paul, who also notes that it is also the last day of lunch duty. Russ is happy that even though his son Django broke his hand, he can still participate in track and field, and daughter Clemintine is headed to the World Affairs Seminar. Mark is happy that subjects of previous sad bucks – the felling of the huge tree and the near sinking of the “Timtanic” – have been repaired. Steve is happy that Leo graduated and is already hard at work in dad’s business.

Karla Update: She’s happy for summer, a new haircut and a new phone, but sad to say farewell to favorite teachers. She’s headed to Portland and Seattle with her host family.

Announcements
Frolic: It starts Thursday June 6! Get your tickets sold and the money back to Steve. We still need to fill shifts at the hamburger stand, so check the schedule and see where you can help. On Sunday, the stand will only sell hot dogs and brats (no burgers) in order to simplify cleanup and save on over-ordering meat.

Mark your calendars. The 10K raffle is set for Wednesday August 14 and the Teacher Welcome Luncheon will be the following week, Wednesday August 21. Also, we’re not meeting July 3 because of the holiday. We’ll use the fifth Wednesday that month, July 31, for a regular meeting.

Youth Exchange Counselor: Judy Steinhauer is retiring as youth exchange officer and Keith White is taking her spot. That means Keith’s position as youth exchange counselor needs to be filled. Please let the board know if you are interested.

Grants: The grants committee is considering a district grant to supply the kitchen at the MARC center and participating in a world grant for a school for Ukrainian refugees.

Photos from last Wednesday's Community Grant Ceremony recipients: Mount Horeb Library, UW & Mount Horeb Fire Department EMT, Mount Horeb Intermediate School PE class, Mount Horeb Club Interact and Mt. Horeb Softball Club.
